What else besides self attack up is a buff that fires regardless of other buff cards?

So "combat skills" are the type that won't be restricted by the 3 total. That includes any self up skills like LotO, Defender of the Weak, or Saber Sid's self def up. It also includes old 3unit up skills like bail or Appo, as well new senators one unit up.

I'm looking to replace my 4`snipers with 5`, but it's a hard sell. 5` Leia is self attack up.

I have very strong Skill 40s (attack up, Defense up) and I want to keep them in my formation, so I need other skill cards that don't displace them.

Ya, so the only skills that count towards the 3 limit are global skills, the game calls them "prep skills".

But I thought I read an administrative posting last server maintenance that said they changed this. It was something along the lines of, "cards in range of more than 1 combat skill will only be affected by one combat skill card."

For a time it was possible to have two Bails (a combat skill, as opposed to prep skill) buff the same card. Following that patch it is no longer possible. You can have multiple combat skills affect one card, but not if the skills come from the same card.
